About me
I am an solo indie game developer based in Manchester UK. My love of gaming stretches back to the 1990’s and I fell into game development through my passion for coding websites during my day job.

Where Independent Vision Builds Connected Worlds

Andrew Fairley began developing The Nexus Exchange Network as a personal experiment in world‑building, a place where systems, stories and player agency could collide without compromise. Working alone from his small studio in Cheshire, he started shaping prototypes, mechanics and lore with the same documentary‑style curiosity that drives him as a designer: an obsession with how people interact, trade, compete and collaborate inside digital worlds. What began as sketches, rough mechanics and late‑night coding sessions gradually evolved into a structured vision, a networked universe where every decision has weight and every system feeds into something larger.
As the project matured, Andrew pushed deeper into the craft, building tools, interfaces and narrative frameworks that would allow the world to grow organically. He refined the economic simulation, expanded faction behaviours, and experimented with ways to let players influence the world without breaking its internal logic. The work demanded patience, iteration and a willingness to rebuild entire systems when they didn’t serve the experience, a freedom only a solo developer truly has.
Today the project has grown into a fully fledged solo development venture, with Andrew designing, coding and producing every element himself. The Nexus Exchange Network continues to evolve into a living ecosystem of factions, markets and narrative threads, but the belief behind it remains unchanged. Andrew is convinced that independent creators can still build ambitious, interconnected game worlds, and that players deserve experiences shaped by vision rather than committee. For him, the Network isn’t just a game, it’s proof that one developer, working with focus and intent, can still create something vast.
